What "NESTOR" is?
Network Traffic Statistic Reporter - NESTOR is a network traffic statistics
utility for Windows. It gathers a variety of figures such as network packet and byte counts and reports it
to screen, file or database.
This tool could be used with advantages for
real-time monitoring of traffic passing over your network, for internet connection
traffic monitoring and computers/users activity statistics.
NESTOR could be run on any computer of your network.
With NESTOR you can defines a number of "counters". Each counter is represented
mainly with filter, which specifies traffic you are interested in. Filtering criteria
are for example: certain host or network, direction of packet (incomming or outcomming), IP port,
IP protocol and combinations.
Main features:
- can be run on any computer of local network, not only on server or router
- unlimited number of "counters" - it is only on you, what traffic you are interested in
- Microsoft Windows 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000 compatible
- Direct database linking
- ODBC and OLE-DB database support
- very low system resources needs
- works as native windows service
- internal data backup enables data report interval as long as needed.
- support of standard Berkelley packet filters
